ANTICIPATE Campaign

Update 6-17-2021

Giving: So far in 7 months, we have faithfully given to our 3-year campaign a total of $64,924 out of the $240,000 pledge. We are incredibly grateful for God's grace.

Project Update: Site survey with wetlands delineation and proper setbacks have been received. Our Architect (CKG Designs) will be moving into the concept and schematic design phase. After we approve those designs, we will transition into construction documents where MEP Engineers will verify code compliance and layout for plumbing, fixtures, kitchen, lighting, HVAC, fire protection, electrical, etc.

Line of Credit: We are working on closing the Line of Credit with New Valley Bank for up to $328,000. We are working around some vacation schedules for the various parties involved.

Update 5-20-2021

Giving:

So far in 6 months, we have faithfully given to our 3-year campaign a total of $60,746 out of the $240,000 pledge. We are incredibly grateful for God's grace.

Project Update:

Smith Associate Surveyors are completing the survey of our property. JG Site Services are working with them to design the landscape and exterior of our property.

Line of Credit:

Appraising of the property has been completed for the evaluation of $410,000. New Valley Bank & Trust has approved a line of credit up to $328,000. The interest rate on this line of credit will be prime with no points added. The lawyers are working on finalizing the papers. This line of credit will allow us to have access to credit throughout the entire master plan. The Session will take due diligence to communicate any amount we borrow and the plan to pay back the principal and interest.

Update 3-25-2021

Giving:

So far in 5 months, we have faithfully given to our 3-year campaign a total of $53,022 out of the $240,000 pledge. We are incredibly grateful for God's grace.

Project Costs:

In addition to entering a contract with CKG Designs to complete our architectural plans and to create build-ready documents for our project we have contracted with:

  • Robt. W. Hall Consulting Engineers to design plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and electrical plans
  • JG Site Services to landscaping design and permitting services.
  • Smith Associate Surveyors to survey our boundaries, building locations, topography, wetlands, utility locations, etc.

These "soft" project costs were not unexpected but can add up. The expected total of all of these costs is around $85,000. These numbers may seem high but are in reality given to us at a discount and will cover permitting and plans for the entire master plan and not just phase 1.

Line of Credit:

The Session has applied to New Valley Bank & Trust for a line of credit up to $350,000. The interest rate on this line of credit will be prime with no points added. This line of credit will allow us to have access to credit throughout the entire master plan. The Session will take due diligence to communicate any amount we borrow and the plan to pay back the principal and interest.

Town Hall Meeting--April 11:

We will have a Town Hall Meeting to discuss these updates via in-person & zoom after the worship & communion on Sunday, April 11.

Update 3-4-2021

We have entered into a contract with CKG Designs for our architect needs to create build-ready documents for our complete project. We are narrowly down potential finance options. Our hope is that these drawings and a contract will be hired late spring and we can begin work this summer. Our first phase project priorities are:

  • Expanded and Renovate Bathrooms
  • Expanded and Repave Parking lot in the front
  • Widen the Sanctuary to the full width of the porticos.

WHAT IS THE ANTICIPATE CAMPAIGN?

<<CLICK HERE for the ANTICIPATE CAMPAIGN BROCHURE>>

We are entering a new and exciting season in the life of our congregation. We ANTICIPATE that God will do great things in us personally and in our congregation as we enter this spiritual growth and building campaign. The theme verse is:

But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.” (Micah 7:7, ESV)

Waiting for God is not passive. Waiting for God is living in eager expectation. It is ANTICIPATING that God will fulfill all his promises. Waiting for God requires us to prepare for action—to be awake and ready. In this season we expect to individually and as a congregation to:

  • ANTICIPATE Growing: We will be changed inwardly and outwardly

  • ANTICIPATE Being Generous: The gospel is God’s unmerited generosity towards us.

  • ANTICIPATE Trusting: Trusting is learning to love God more and being eager to obey.

  • ANTICIPATE Prioritizing: All of us need to reexamine and reprioritize God in our life.

  • ANTICIPATE Sacrificing: Following Jesus means loving and serving others.

  • ANTICIPATE Committing: Following Jesus means there is no half-measures.

  • ANTICIPATE Participating: Iron sharpens iron, we need each other to grow with God.

Yet, our work is not done. I ANTICIPATE the day when our congregation more accurately reflects the diversity of God’s kingdom as we stay true to His Word together. The mission-critical project before us will help align our building with the vibrancy we have for the gospel and our vision as a congregation. We long and ANTICIPATE God revitalizing the people of greater Springfield with the love of Jesus; and, we eagerly ANTICIPATE how God will continue to work through us in new ways to spread His good news to our neighbors.

Jesus is the great unifier. I am thankful and humbled at the diversity that God has given us at Christ Presbyterian Church. Our vision is simple that we are a church that seeks to be diverse in a multitude of ways: ethnically, socially-economically, generationally, and politically. Our diversity celebrates our unity. We are a church that is unified in who Jesus is, what He has done, and the authority of His Word on all lives.

It is my great privilege to PARTICIPATE with you all in this exciting time in the life of CPC as we continue to see each other and new believers fall deeper in love with Jesus.
